1. About Us
ShortReg is a trading name of Plates Boutique Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 12911026. Our registered office is at Old Church Business Centre, 89b Quicks Road, London SW19 1EX. You can contact us at office@shortreg.co.uk or call 020 8087 1777.
2. Definitions
"Buyer": A customer purchasing a registration mark from ShortReg.
"Seller": A customer selling a registration mark through the ShortReg website.
"DVLA": Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.
"Registration Mark": A personalised vehicle registration number.
3. General Terms
These Terms apply to all transactions conducted via our website. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time, changes will be posted on our website.
4. User Responsibilities
Users agree to:
Provide accurate and complete information to facilitate the sale of a registration mark.
Ensure legal ownership or authority to advertise, purchase or sell a registration mark.
Cooperate fully with ShortReg and DVLA during the transfer process.
Keep account credentials secure.
Use the website lawfully and respectfully.
Registration marks must be displayed accurately and in accordance with the law. Any alteration, mis-spacing, or misrepresentation of the characters is a legal offence. Therefore, all registration marks sold by us are provided with the strict understanding that the number plates will be displayed in full compliance with Regulation 17 of the Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001.
5. Buying a Registration Mark
Subject to availability and DVLA approval.
Prices include VAT and DVLA fees unless stated otherwise.
Full payment is required at the time of order.
Transfer may take up to 6 weeks in worst cases, depending on the papers being concluded by the DVLA.
We accept the following payment methods:
Credit and Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard) through the website portal.
Bank Transfers
PayPal
Apple Pay and Google Pay
All payments must be made in GBP (£). We reserve the right to refuse any transaction that appears suspicious or fraudulent.
7. Selling a Registration Mark
You confirm legal ownership or authority to sell.
We may purchase directly or list on your behalf.
You must notify us if the mark becomes unavailable.
Payment is made within 10 days of successful transfer.
8. Right to Cancel
Personalised registrations are bespoke; the 14-day cancellation period does not apply once the transfer begins.
Cancellation before transfer may incur a fee.
9. Refunds
Refunds are only issued in the following circumstances:
The registration mark is no longer available or cannot be transferred due to DVLA restrictions.
A cancellation request is received before the transfer process begins and is approved by ShortReg.
Refunds will be processed using the original payment method within 5 working days of approval.
Non-refundable costs may include DVLA assignment or retention fees (if already paid), administrative or processing fees, and no refunds will be issued once the DVLA transfer process has started, unless the failure is due to an error on our part.
10. Transfer Process
Subject to DVLA approval.
We are not liable for DVLA delays or rejections.
Failure to cooperate may result in administrative charges.
11. Liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the registration mark.
12. Data Protection
We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

13. Dispute Resolution Process
We aim to resolve all disputes quickly and fairly. If you have a complaint or dispute:
1. Contact Us First: Email us at [Email Address] with full details of your concern. We will acknowledge your complaint within 1 working day and aim to resolve it within 5 working days.
2. Escalation: If you are not satisfied with our response, you may request escalation to a senior manager for further review.
3. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): If the issue remains unresolved, we will provide access to an independent ADR provider, such as the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) or another certified UK ADR body.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
15. Delivery of Registration Marks
Registration marks certificates, such as the DVLA certificate of entitlement (V750) or retention document (V778), depending on the nature of the transaction, will be sent via Royal Mail Signed For or Special Delivery. Delivery times may vary but typically range from 2–5 working days within the UK.
If physical documents are required, Standard delivery is included in the price unless otherwise stated. Expedited or international delivery may incur additional charges.
ShortReg is not responsible for delays caused by postal services or incorrect delivery details provided by the customer. If documents are lost in transit, we will assist in obtaining replacements from DVLA where possible.
Number Plate Manufacturing: If you choose to order physical number plates through the ShortReg store on Ebay, these will be dispatched separately. Delivery timelines and costs will be provided at the time of order.
